Love, Religion...?
Wednesday, October 14, 2009 - 1:59 PM
I believe that the main reason for the existence of this world is love. Some religious books state that God loved to be known. So, he created the creatures and made himself known to them, and through Him they knew Him. All prophets were sent to humanity with a simple message: Be good, love your fellow humans, love all God’s creation and abstain from causing harm to anyone. The message brought by all prophets was one that aimed at bringing love and happiness to the universe. These prophets never called for war or misery. For them, the only cause for war was in self-defense. People has the right to believe or disbelieve, and the punishment for disbelieving is left to God in the hereafter where He can punish or forgive. In my opinion, problems were started by the followers after the end of these prophets’ times. Those followers misunderstood the message. Because of their ego, they went to establish states that are based on anarchy. They forced people to obey them, warning them with grave punishment if they don’t. They started wars claiming that it is for the sake of God, while the true reason was to expand their kingdoms and become richer. On their way they killed and injured vast numbers of humans and expanded misery all around. A lot of people in our current time think that religion is the cause of all misery and sadness. The fact is that, the wrong interpretation of religion along with human ego and misconduct is the cause and not religion. I think, it is high time to stop and go back to the true message of all religions: Be good, love all and abstain from causing harm.
